Small Presidencies, Big Sticks, VAWA Passes Senate, Student Loans to Pass House, Neither Headed to President, ABC DC Puppy War (PM Note)

April 26, 2012 06:15 PM
Pre-Note Silliness - Vote for the ABC DC Cutest Pup@eliwalterwoof or @winstontapper ?
Senate Passes VAWA - Bill to reauthorize violence against women act heads to the House -http://abcn.ws/Iu3su9
Al Franken's Teary Tribute to the Wellstones - http://abcn.ws/I8J2Ed
A Democrat's Harsh Spins to Jon Karl - "31 of 46 Republicans voted against VAWA. But it still passed thanks to vulnerable Republicans (Brown, Heller), those running for Veep (Thune, Portman, Ayotte) and one who slept with hookers (Vitter)."
Rhetorical Dovetail Today -
Boehner: "Obama made the presidency smaller" http://abcn.ws/IHQR5L
Biden: "I promise you, the president has a big stick."
Boehner's Point was About Student Loans - Boehner accused President Obama of diminishing the traditional role of the presidency by inventing "fake fights" over the student loan rate extension and parading around the country on campaign trips aboard Air Force One disguised as official business at taxpayers' expense. "This is the biggest job in the world and I've never seen a president make it smaller… The president keeps attempting to invent these fake fights because he doesn't have a record of success or a positive agenda for our country. It's as simple as this: The emperor has no clothes. They can't talk about their record on jobs because their policies have made the economy worse." (Arlette Saenz)
Biden's Point Was About Foreign Policy and Teddy Roosevelt - He accused Mitt Romney of having a "cold war mindset". ""If you're looking for a bumper sticker to sum up how President Obama has handled what we inherited, it's pretty simple: Osama bin Laden is dead, and General Motors is alive." He said later, "You have to ask yourself… if Gov. Romney were president, would he have used the same slogan in reverse?"http://abcn.ws/JJ1gPZ   (Devin Dwyer)
Biden's Policy Speeches - By the Numbers - Yahoo! News' Chris Wilson finds that in Biden's five speeches to frame the choice this election, the term "middle class" is far and away the most used - http://yhoo.it/JJFFH4
Rob Portman is Not Boring - He might be the "safe" bet, but Matt Negrin finds he's far from boring - Have you kayaked through China? -  http://abcn.ws/ITERhp
"I'm not going anywhere, don't worry." Chris Christie to New Jersey  - http://abcn.ws/IjA6ls  (Shush Walshe)
Differences Persist in Student Loan Debate - John Parkinson - Republicans and Democrats have both proposed alternative methods to cover the cost of the extension and, judging by their comments today, a huge gulf remains between the two parties. While House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, announced Wednesday that the House would vote Friday on a one-year extension that is paid for by pulling funds from the president's health care law, Democrats prefer to raise taxes on small businesses in order to cover the $6 billion cost of a one-year extension. http://abcn.ws/JD8arG
Pelosi Says GOP Student Loan Plan is "Assault on Women's Health" - http://abcn.ws/JJFFH5
Carney on New El Salvador Allegations Against Secret Service - "While this is an ongoing investigation, we're not going to comment more broadly, and we're certainly not going to comment upon, you know, rumors or speculation that appears in the media about either this incident or other potential incidents"http://abcn.ws/I5lCAG  (Mary Bruce)
Tired of Cool - Karl Rove group attacks Obama for being too cool - http://abcn.ws/IIpDfm

College Tour - From Mary Bruce -  While the president did not call out the presumptive GOP nominee by name, he drew a sharp contrast between his background and that of Mitt Romney, who comes from a wealthier family. "This is something Michelle and I know about firsthand," Obama said. "I didn't just read about this… I didn't just get some talking points about this. I didn't just get a policy briefing on this." "Check this out, all right?  I'm the president of the United States.  We only finished paying off our student loans about eight years ago," he said to laughter from the crowd of roughly 8,000. "That wasn't that long ago." While young voters still overwhelmingly support the president - Obama enjoys a substantial 60 to 34 percent lead over Romney - their interest has waned since 2008. http://abcn.ws/JY8Q6A

Travel insurance, it is a spiritual

Travel insurance is the last thing that many of us think about before the holidays. You feel relief when the trip is paid for. Start saving "money." In time, you can decide where to go, to go, where to stay, that flight or cruise to take, just don't remember "travel insurance" and this could be a huge mistake for all of us.
We can invest in travel to far away places, we can carefully to purchase new clothes, Sun glasses, new luggage, underwear, and other accessories, only to leave us wide open to the catastrophe and the loss of money, if any of the following events occurs: the company tour operator decides that needs the tummy tuck, at the expense of the customer, or the company's tour disappear, or airline goes bankrupt or impact or Hurricane age, named after Your ex wife, makes a turn to the left and heads straight to Your travel or part of California is located in the Ocean because of earthquakes and the action upsets the rest of the world's oceans, delays flights, extreme, illness during the holidays, because the drink of water, and a BIG one, terrorist attack, not to mention, if you loose the passport or the worst, the Ocean and the claims of the Residentialwhere you are staying.
All the jokes, you can purchase travel insurance against trip cancellation, travel interruptions, missed calls, airline ticket coverage, medical expenses, emergency medical transport, baggage, delayed baggage, Accidental death and have 24-hour travel assistance service available from there, any where in the world.
"Real" reasons to buy travel insurance
OK quite negative. I am sure you get the point. There is, however, more important reasons to purchase travel insurance; Protects your persistent home if something happen during the journey.
Example: what older people who have waited their entire life to travel only to find out that Medicare does not cover to anyone outside the United States! Can you picture spending sizable amounts of pensions in payment of medical bills in another country? There are Major Medical Polices for travellers (including seniors) who are going abroad for a period of at least 6 months and require more permanent insurance. These plans provide complete protection for medical emergency medical treatment, wellness care and optional prescription drug coverage.
Example: people who have travel insurance had completely different experience, Emily (Hurricane) hit the Mexican Yucatan, in July 2005. First of all the name and went to is trying to catch the flight to the airport. At some point there were no more flights were only buses carrying thousands of touring inland away from the storm. With travel insurance does not cover "costs" (I'm sure it was enough only to worry about his life), realizing that they could be reimbursed by their policies. Those without insurance you are interested in the costs of accommodation and food, until Emily got better ratio. Surely many tourist without travel insurance had to spend part of their upcoming monthly budget before putting it safely home. (I wonder what happens to those who reached their limit on credit cards) We cannot go to what happened to the tourists who were staying in the small Hotels Katrina hit the city!
Another example of a "real" reasons to purchase travel insurance, are skiing in the Alps, are dogging muldach (or they can be dogging) and delayed in turn. Not a real problem, but you need to be airlifted to the nearest hospital to have x-rays taken. Transport cost? Who pays? You can do if you do not have the proper (travel), medical insurance or accident insurance. (Will be paying for the ride to the hospital helicopter upset monthly budget home?)
And what a classic example? Leave the pouch of money from your credit cards and travel checks carried out in the cabin, in the way back to the hotel. It happens all the time. Insurance, not to return.
Important information:
Note, this is very important: most travel insurance, use the default, terrorism insurance and insurance previously within 10 days of the initial reservation travel. The Motto, cannot wait until the destination on a US State Department travel warning list to purchase insurance.
The less you have to worry about holiday, the safer you will be. When you travel outside of the United States should be given the freedom of Your account overview. You should always be aware of Your surroundings.
Just with examples. If you can protect yourself and the investment, probably will not need to cover his "almost as an insurance company put invisible" umbrella of protection "around us, so they will not have to pay or is a prayer driving us safe?
