Italy-factors to watch on 2 July

Milan-the following factors could affect Italian markets on Monday.

MARKETS

Asian shares rose Monday, with sentiment brightening at the beginning of the third quarter after EU leaders agreed prop up troubled banks in the region, but the euro has given some of his earnings amid concerns that the debt crisis is far from up above.

German Bund Futures surged after a slow start on Monday, reversing some of the losses made last week after EU leaders surprised markets by agreeing to reshape the bailout funds in the euro zone.

FIAT, FIAT INDUSTRIAL

Fiat SpA has called for the suspension of a court ruling ordering it to 145 hire workers who are members of the largest Metalworkers Union and Italy's appeals against the decision, the auto maker said Saturday.

* Italian car sales posted a double-digit decline in June, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne said Sunday. June's car sold data are due later on Monday.

* Despite enormous problems in Europe, Fiat is a stock, worth hyaving for investors with an appetite for risk, packaged in a weekly report of financial newspaper Barron 's.

* Truck unit Iveco fiat Industrial closed five truck plants in Europe by the end of 2012 to bring its manufacturing footprint to the collapse of Europe truck sales, CEO of Iveco Alfredo Altavilla said Sunday.

FONDIARIA-SAI, UNIPOL

Italian insurer that Unipol an ultimatum on Friday over the controversial bailout troubled peer Fondiaria-SAI, saying it would drop the offer if his conditions were not met by July 20.

In another twist to the saga, a judicial source said Friday that Italian prosecutors probing business relationships Ligrestis ask regulators to verify conflicting estimates about the financial soundness of Unipol ...

Fondiaria shareholder control Premafin to hold a Council meeting on Monday.

Impregilo Gavio suitor due to unveil details of its strategy for the Group of Italy's largest construction at a press conference due at 0930 GMT on Monday.

EDISON

Electricité de France to launch a takeover bid for 19.3% of Edison does not possess. Il Sole 24 Ore said Sunday, Carlo Tassara holding, which owns 10 percent of Edison, has not ruled out legal action against the takeover bid, which would force Tassara book a loss.
